I've been told that Channel has been banned in EDH. Is this true? I can understand why it would be, since I had just Channelled half of my life into mana, and then cast Verdeloth, the Ancient for an easy-bake swarm.

It's not on the suggested ban list (here, in "Social"), meaning that it's not "officially" banned. If you're new to the playgroup, it's possible that they have their own banlist. Though I think it's most likely that they just assumed it was banned, because it can be such a powerful card and lead to impressive plays in the early turns.

If you like transforming your life points into fresh additions to your army, Phyrexian Processor is also not banned.

Not that I'm aware of. Probably a house rule. I've never seen it played and that's not because it's banned. The fact that it produces colorless mana on a green card hurts it a bit, as you still need other colors in the early turns to really get ahead, so probably not banworthy. All of the ways I can think of to abuse it take time or don't kill enough people fast enough.

My guess is it may have been confused with fastbond, or assumed to be banned since it was in the exiled set.
