Blade's a newcomer but I'll vouch for them (in case that's necessary). o/

I'm going to join again. In general I'm happy to see anything you want to send--kooky alters, commanders you haven't seen built but want to, etc.

Last decks I built are all 'beginner' style decks which are meant to be on similar power levels in 4+ group setting. I'll work on adding decklists to this post in case somebody wants to make a fun alter for my friends to see (rules text still needs to be legible).

I thought of one last thing for if my tormentor needs more inspiration. I have a Zur deck that I like describing as Christmas Zombies with Evil Santa Zur. So, if you'd like to know some cards to alter (preferably with Christmas-related things) I'd be happy with pretty much anything on this list (everything besides the foils and the couple of cards I already have alters for--alters).

Deck links for each of the 'beginner' decks. So far they've worked out pretty well for my purposes. I'm not claiming they're all perfectly balanced, and some of them are naturally stronger than others.

Mono Green Elves
Mono Green Hydras

Mono Blue Thopters
Mono Blue Sphinxes

Mono Red Goblins
Mono Red Dragons

Mono White Equipment
Mono White Angels

Mono Black Zombies
Mono Black Demons

Kooky. Wacky. Offbeat. Slapstick. Wonky.

Like, the Addams Family. They're creepy and they're kooky. Mysterious and spooky. They're altogether ooky*. The Addams family. (Do do de do SNAP SNAP)

*ooky is not actually a word as far as I know

Oh, just an adjective that I mean to be something similar to silly, funny, ridiculous, eccentric, etc. Meaning I don't expect somebody to think I expect anything high quality at all. If you've getting cards for me and want to do an alter, doing something fun/funny would be great.

Exactly this. For whatever reason, kooky is the word my brain goes to when describing this general thing. And darnit, Addams Family may actually have been what embedded this word into my skull.

That would be where you bow down before C'hip-Zahoi, dark god of chocolate chips.

This thread is bringing a lot of joy to my day.

St Nic, is the true gift of Grixmas the friends and joy we found along the way?

Nope.

The true joy is altering cards that will get someone gayed out of a game, that way they want to play with them, feel compelled to, but then are slaughtered ceaselessly. The key is the cards need to being hate, but not be overpowered.

Note to self: Aetherflux Reservoir, but with strands of Grixmas lights in the rough shape of a cone.

I'm glad I'm not late this year!
Seems like Grixmas is getting earlier and earlier. >.>

Reserving this post to come up with my wants list, but in general, odd things that make new players go "What is this junk?" and pick the card up and have to read it a few times is always awesome.

I now have... 40+ decks, one for each color identity, a few budget brews (Sub $40) and 6 cEDH decks.

Edit: Have had some minor family stuff pop up, so wasn't able to type up all my deck lists, but here is a list of the commanders and their "archetype". I'm happy with anything that slots in, and just unusual jank is always appreciated:

Karn, Silver Golem Colorless control, very creature light.
Evra, Halcyon Witness Lifegain with Cleric Tribal theme.
Sakashima the Imposter Clones and theft cards
King Macar, the Gold-Cursed Suicide Black with a Demon Tribal theme.
Kiki-jiki, Mirror Breaker Goblin Tribal with minor control elements.
Omnath, Locus of Mana He's big, he's green and his ramp's obscene.

Karametra, God of Harvests Called Land ramp into the Great Aurora.
Ayesha Tanaka Old School deck, all old bordered cards. Azorious Control
Lazav, Dimir Mastermind Hand and Deck manipulation at it's finest.
Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood Vampire tribal, with the usual suspects for pump.
Wort, the Raidmother Deck's called "Wort World" with 99 Creatures and lands. = )
Experiment Kraj Standard Simic, but has the make your planeswalker a creature thing.
Arjuun, the Shifting Flame Izzet storm, with mostly shuffle and self wheel effects.
Tiana, Ship's Caretaker Boros Equipment / Aura deck. Think Kemba, but Boros.
Ghost Council of Orzhova Legal term theme deck. Arrest, Murder, Bring to Trial...
Glissa, the Traitor Creature light Golgari control deck.

Gahiji, Honored One Combat control deck, with Fog and rattlesnakes.
Rubinia Soulsinger Political Deck with Enchantress subtheme.
Zur the Enchanter Haymaker silver bullet control.
Nicol Bolas Jolly ol' St. Nic Bolas: Group Bearhug with tribal Dragon subtheme.
Kresh the Bloodbraided Red Zone deck with things like No Quarter, False Orders, etc.
Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest WIP: replacing my Narset Super friends deck.
Sidis, Brood Tyrant Self mill Zombie Tribal the horde grows deck.
Alesha, Who Smiles At Death Common Mardu, ETB good stuff reanimator.
Animar, Soul of Elements Kamigawa Spirit Arcane Tribal deck.
Karador, Ghost Chieftan Birthing Pod Reanimator Token deck. (Sounds weird, I know)

Silas Renn, Seeker AdeptAkiri, Line-Slinger Eggs. Commander Eggs.
Vial Smasher the FierceKydele, Chosen of Kryphix Oath of Druids storm.
Saskia, the Undying Infect, using Saskia's ETB to double/triple dip with Panharmonicon
Kynalos and Tiro of Meletis Was group hug Warp World, but after complaints it's Lands
Atraxa, Praetors' Voice Superfriends! With only single target removal.

Karona, False God - Tutorless Primalsurge deck with 15 gods, enchantments and lands.

Zada, Hedron Grinder -$40 budget deck, could use a Kari Zev's Expertise.

Atemsis, All-Seeing -$40 budget deck. Still fine tuning, but anything that returns permanents to hand to draw cards is where this deck wants to be. (Already has Gush.)

Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest is being built out as a Stax light build with some toolbox and mean sticky things like Smothering Tithe and Stasis. He's largely being built as a meta call where I play and totally don't expect anything for him, but added tot he list for completion sake as he's still in my "casual" set of decks.

One week remains on the deadline to register for Grixmas 2019.

I have 9 participants registered, and 2-4 that have posted/claimed interest but not yet registered.

The last two years or so, I moved the registration to September, to allow most of Oct to register (previous years people missed out because they don't check the forums too often, so only 15 days for registration was a bit too short). This also allows all of November for mailing packages out to reduce the number of "late" senders and hopefully everybody gets their stuff (it is the receiving season) before Grixmas day.

If you are going to ask for 40 Arcane Signets you might end up with a pile of Storm Crows 8)

I would GLADLY add it to the pile I have from the last Grixmas I was in, except I fear they may be flying somewhere in the next month.

I shall be in once again!

Requests :

My newest deck could use some kooky or spooky items :

https://archidekt.com/decks/210960#Gont ... _(Update_1)

Zirilan (altered for Grixmas) has a few altered Dragons from previous years that would love friends. Done so far : Scourge of Valkas, Dragon Whisperer, Nesting Dragon, Verix, Dragon Mage, Thunder Dragon, Dragon's Hoard, and Lathliliss.

Other than that, any Grixmas theme would be greatly appreciated. I am certain I can make a great spot for it in a deck!
