I feel like the alt-win cards are a neat "achievement unlocked" kind of moment... I'm on a spirit quest to eventually win with all of them at least once (I just got a Tomb of Urami to help set up Liliana's Contract)

That said, Felidar Sovereign is probably the least interesting of the bunch, and I'd probably get bored playing against someone whose deck was built to cheat it into play ASAP every game

My experience with Felidar and cards like it is that they're a sucker punch that only works once per deck, or, more accurately, only works if I don't know they're there. I've lost to the Sovereign before, but never twice.

This.

I had a RW deck that was built to use Barren Glory as it's main wincon, and I only won two games with it because no one really expected it, after that the deck got boring to play and play against so I took it apart.

I feel Sovereign and Co. played this way misses the point. My Selvala deck has always been a Sovereign/Test wincon, and if I played sovereign just because I had it in my opening hand it’d be incredibly boring. It demands patience. It demands inevitability. It demands triple digit life totals at a minimum.

That said, it’s also been simply outclassed by the advent of Aetherflux Reservoir. I’ve had several games recently where I knew protecting Sovereign or Test or Celestial Convergance was not an option or just a distraction until I could dig to Aetherflux, at which point the game could end.
