As most of you may know, I am skilled in Esper colors, if not Witch colors (WUBG), and have known of a vastly irritating combination for quite some time. This defensive combination falls within the Dimir colors via Leyline of the Void and Web of Inertia. While most people may glance over this combination of cards, the keen will appreciate its ability to shutdown the board.

Now what this combo does is prevent any other player, aside from you, from attacking and effectively stall the board for quite some time until someone destroys it. A cheaper alternative for leyline though would be Planar Void but not preferable one, as opposed to Relic of progenitus or Tormod's Crypt and other effects. Enjoy

Actually RaiRai, it prevents any other player from attacking YOU. They can still attack each other just fine. Which means it's a great way to keep huge monsters off your back, but you still need to worry about things like Saskia. Or Hydra Omnivore.

Plus all someone has to do is Krosan Grip the web and you're in trouble.

Before making a claim like this, it's best to actually know what your cards do.

So you put Leyline and Web into play. How do you keep players who already have cards in their graveyard off of your back?

Also, while it does protect you, it doesn't protect any planeswalkers you have out. The other thing to take into consideration is that, with that combo out, locking people out from attacking you doesn't stop them from deciding to gang up on you. There are a lot of ways to deal damage without attacking, and the combo doesn't stop a majority of the alternative methods (mostly red).

The idea is to keep the big mother hubbards from tearing you a new one and buying you the time to build since forcing reanimators to exile from the graveyard still slows them down.

Until someone plays any kind of enchantment removal. Or bounce. It's a cute combo, to be sure, but when you mess with people's graveyards, you paint quite the target on yourself.

Or have a card in the yard before you play Leyline.

If you're going this route, Web and Rest In Peace are a more solid combo, assuming you don't have plans for your own GY.

I'm hard pressed to see the utility over multiple Propaganda-type effects, which provide redundancy and don't turn off without both prices in play.

I'd agree, Web of inertia doesn't seem like a great choice as far as a combo piece worth using. It only requires one card in a graveyard for someone to be able to attack for the entire turn. From what I've looked at, most of the things that combo with Web like Leyline actually do cost more then the alternatives to Web's combo pieces, and the alternatives I've seen like Norn's Annex, Sphere of Safety, and even Holy Day and Kami of False Hope all work without a combo piece.

So I think it's hard to see how using Web has any benefits over it's alternatives, and I'm not able to see any utility, because it doesn't stop people from attacking. Though it does give me some ideas about using Orb of Dreams and instant speed mass blink effects.
