Hi! (Yay banned list update!)

Sorry if this has been talked about already...

Sooo, Comet storm for ten, multikicker one, conspired with Wort the raidmother. Is that 4 packets of ten damage or 3 packets of ten damage?

Playgroup had a new addition and he made this happen the other night, and we all thought it was so cool we said 4 packets of ten. (two players died :twisted: ) So just curious about how conspire works with kicked stuff.

Go Comet Storm!

Conspire is a copy effect.
Quote:
706.2. When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object’s characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on).

So yes, you copy the multikicker.

Why 10 damage kicked once when you can do 6 damage kicked five times? I mean, settling for 40 damage instead of 72 just seems a little silly.

Thanks.

I don't particularly remember the value of x or multikicker, it wasn't my spell, and he really only needed to do 40 damage to kill two players. At least 40 damage was involved, I just threw that out there to ask the question. There weren't too many targets on the board at that point. Way to be a wet blanket. :roll:

If you're trying to burn two players out with it, I'm pretty sure the way Comet Storm is worded 2 'packets' of damage from the same storm can't hit the same target, so you can conspire it and do 20 each to two players, but if you did the 6 kicked 5 times thing, you could do a maximum of 12 damage each to those same 2 players. (and spread burning death around to various creatures of course).

that's kinda what I thought, but could you go Kick to opponent A, then B, then A then B etc.?
@paperwarrior
just foolin' around, yeah 72 damage is a better way to spend 13 mana, but I suppose the point that just came up on this thread may have been going through the caster's mind... dunno. Or maybe he though 4 huge comets was cooler than 12 smaller ones :)

Nope. Each target must be a new one. When the spell says "Another target" it means something that hasn't been targeted by this spell yet.

Ahhh so. Picky comets want all the glory for themselves.
This turned out to be quite informational, I never considered that he COULDN'T have a kicker value more than 3 with 3 opponents and NO creatures on the table aside from his own (to conspire with)
