I remember feeling surprised at how long it took to ban Sundering Titan.

The guy in our group who loved it moved onto Realm Razer, a card he is still in love with. Realm Razer may sound like a bit of a dick card (and, in fact, it probably is one) yet it's still factors more interesting and interactive than Sundering Titan ever was.

At least you can kill it to get your land back. Or is he the kind of asshat that only plays it if he can abuse trigger timing to permanently exile all the land?

Well, that's the thing. He knows that all the hoops he has to jump through to "break" it* tend to take long enough that we can do something about it and that much tension tends to make things work out.

It helps that he self-polices enough to not run an unbounded sacrifice outlet; it would take that tension away. He also genuinely doesn't go for the combo each and every game, which would certainly get old.

*a recent version of the deck would set up Victimize, Realm Razer and Fleshbag Marauder

5-color, eh? That's really not bad, all things considered.

Realm Razer is like a reverse Mana Reflection. Yes, it's a powerful play in winning the mana war. It's also totally reversible with one removal spell. He's social enough. I would applaud a red/white player for playing him instead of the other options he has available.
