Just to clear up any misconceptions that have started, the only reason Intrepid mentioned Timetwister was because he was responding to an earlier post in which I mistakenly said that the P9 were banned, and he was merely pointing out that Timetwister was not banned, and he enjoyed running it in one of his decks. It wasn't intended to be cited as a call to unban cards, or state that P9 or any other broken cards can be used fairly.

Timetwister is, in fact, only the 7th most expensive EDH legal card. :)

Um, unless the site I'm using is far different from yours, most of the Alpha duals are worth more than Twister.

If you can get a card in a different set (revised) for cheaper, then I don't think that counts.

I've also got a foil miscut artist proof of Who Cares in my Lord Asperger, Master Pedant deck.

I don't know about anyone else, but my eye has been twitching at the fact he said it's the 7th most expensive card but only listed 6 cards.

I am dissapointed at your edit Ban Ki-Moon. The original was better.

GB and Dream Halls seem really good together.

Yes, I meant the cheapest possible version of the card. And yes, I miscounted. Math is hard!

Not really anything new to add, but I have a hard time seeing this guy being a huge issue. Bribery got a new friend as well as many other Search & Destroy Silver Bullets. I know a lot of players are going to Douche it up with him, but decks and play groups will adapt to make him a liability.

Has the playtesting accounted for decks building against him?

I know sure as Sh@t that my playgroup will just oust a player using him for combo, "Oh you drew your deck that's nice, we will continue playing without you". And if a group knows beforehand heading into a game that GB is in a deck, someone is going to get hurt quickly and often. I know my playgroup has curbed Consecrated Sphinx to the point where he rarley shows up, and when he does the player usually regrets packing him.
I'm sure if he does end up warping the format we will see a Dec. banning. But the RC has shown considerable patience in evaluating the Banning of cards, and probably will be watching him very closely.

CS is actually one of the best answers for GB.

By the way, everyone is comparing him to Yawg Bargain as a reason for him to die, but my question is this: if they're going to be all inclusive, why don't they get rid of Necropotence? It is a little bit less powerful than Bargain, but its at 3 mana, and not to mention that it can be found by Zur.

1. You skip your draw step.
2. Without an unlimited hand size, you are exiling cards in your hand down to 7 at end of turn.
3. You cannot use the cards straight away.

In summary, it's a card advantage engine, not a combo engine. It's a particularly strong card advantage engine (imo the best in black), but doesn't lead itself to a poor experience.

I don't see the people arguing against banning GB saying anything about playtesting him. js.
