So...I figured I'd start off in this forum with posting a deck that I (and many others) really enjoy playing. It's basically just about putting big, fast things out and then hitting people with them. Sometimes I can focus on using my commander, and other times I can just creature-stack until it's big-play time.
Here's the decklist:
Samut, Voice of Dissent
Aurelia, the Warleader
Avenger of Zendikar
Birds of Paradise
Champion of Rhonas
Greenwarden of Murasa
Odric, Lunarch Marshal
Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant
Selvala, Explorer Returned
Selvala, Heart of the Wilds
Soul of the Harvest
Vizier of the Menagerie
Yisan, the Wanderer Bard
Path to Exile
Swords to Plowshares
Fade into Antiquity
Tooth and Nail
Defense of the Heart
Elixir of Immortality
Sword of the Animist
Garruk, Primal Hunter
Nissa, Vital Force
Kessig Wolf Run
Now there are some infinite combos (because of the meta in which I play - it's often combo or be combo'd). I generally want games to be fun for everyone, but I still enjoy overpowering their decks. I seriously despise lock-out tactics, or things that stop other people from playing.
I refuse to run the following cards:
Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
Hokori, Dust Drinker
Iona, Shield of Emeria
Linvala, Keeper of Silence
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
General wincons: Beat them to death, or all the combat steps. Tooth and nail for Craterhoof Behemoth and Avenger of Zendikar works too. I realise that those two are a bit win-more, but sometimes games drag on and need to end.
Tactics: Value, value, value. Generally hold off on playing some of the key cards like Odric, Lunarch Marshal until it's winning time. Can also take out a single problematic player early on with commander damage (Ghor-Clan Rampager and Rubblehulk bloodrush abilities or Kessig Wolf Run). I've tried to focus more on synergies; things like: Attack with Samut, Voice of Dissent, it's not blocked, tap Samut, Voice of Dissent to untap Walking Atlas, tap Walking Atlas to put Kessig Wolf Run into play and suddenly pump Samut, Voice of Dissent for death to the defender.
Aggravated Assault + Bear Umbra + Rogue's Passage + Any Creature
Aggravated Assault + Savage Ventmaw
Hellkite Charger + Bear Umbra
Adarkar Valkyrie + Aurelia, the Warleader + Bear Umbra + High Market (discovered this one by mistake)
Paradox Engine + Selvala, Explorer Returned + Selvala, Heart of the Wilds + any big creature (Not strictly infinite, but it always ends up me playing my deck - also discovered by mistake).
Mayael's Aria + Hamletback Goliath which gets pretty big
Slow-down effects (Things like Kismet etc)
Lock-out combos (Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Knowledge Pool)
It seems to be doing well enough. I won the EDH season at my LGS with it (heavy Blue/Black meta where everything is 3-, or 4-player FFA), but some tweaking could always be done. I don't often get dead-draws, but I'm sure some things could be done.
I'm looking to not spend more than $15 per card on any more cards for the deck (so forget about Fat Avacyn, or Gaea's Cradle etc.)
Cards I'm considering:
Rhonas the Indomitable
Neheb, the Eternal
I (and most of the players) am struggling to deal with a Kruphix, God of Horizons deck that just tutors for Temporal Manipulation, Eternal Witness, and Conjurer's Closet. I'm often able to exile E-Wit or nuke the Closet, but I don't want to run too much control in this deck (That's what my Child of Alara deck is for). I'm thinking Scavenging Ooze might come in handy, but it doesn't really tie into the deck otherwise.
I appreciate the assistance in advance.
