I've had a strange hankering to build a Yasova "All the Pointy Things" deck with Obsidian Battle-axe, Hero's Blade,Sai of the Shinobi, Stormrider Rig, Ronin Warclub. Maybe Nim Deathmantle, Deathrender too.

I want to drop Yasova an have all the equipment drop on to her like Iron Man. What's that mini Combo with Bludgeon Brawl? Oh, just found it: Vulshok Battlemaster!

Instead of all the usual "Threaten" spells & effects you get in a Yasova deck, I'm thinking all the useful legends I can squeeze into the deck and some legend-matters stuff (Heroes' Podium, Time of Need)

Edit:
And here's the decklist:
Yasova Dragonclaw

Legendary Friends:*
Ashling the Pilgrim
Radha, Heir to Keld
Edric, Spymaster of Trest
Tuktuk, the Explorer
Thassa, God of the Sea
Thada Adel, Aquisitor

Feldon of the Third Path
Polukranos, Devourer of Worlds
Surrak, the Hunt Caller
Sakashima the Imposter
Glissa Sunseeker

Heartless Hidetsugu
Xenagos, God of Revels
Azami, Lady of Scrolls
Arashi, the Sky Asunder
Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius
Arcanis, the Omnipotent
Intet, the Dreamer
Omnath, Locus of Rage
Akroma, Angel of Fury
Maelstrom Wanderer
Ulamog, the Ceasless Hunger

Non-Legendary Friends:
Bird of Paradise
Rattleclaw Mystic

Just wait for the boros deck and use her. She's already got double strike making her the best voltron to date. You're still playing a buffed Yasova so people are still going to hate you out for the potential to theft/sac their prized critters.

Actually I'm going stick to Temur colours so I hope the UR & UG Commander legends are not too linear and can be included. I'm not looking to build a Voltron deck per-sé, (it hadn't even occured to me until you mentionned it there), I want lots of legends who just pick up the silverware lying about.

So far, I'm hovering around the 120 card mark, will have to whittle that down. Thinking of:
36-38 land
4-ish artifact fixers
8-10 equipment
2-3 Planeswalkers
About 15 divers spells for fixing/drawing/pumping
25 Legends
4-5 Mana dudes like Bloom Tender/Rattleclaw Mystic/BoP etc.

It'll take me a few days to pull everything out as I have people over this weekend but I'll try to have a list sleeved and ready to play towards the end of next week. Any effects you recommend will be better received if they are on legendary permanents (Glissa, Miren etc)

Yasova just for colors? The Kamigawa legendary land cycle will be really flavorful and get mileage in this deck. Reki, the history of kamigawa also needs to be in here.

I think I'm going to steal this idea for putting automatic pants onto Zurgo Helmsmasher.

I've found that the best automatic equipers are still Obsidian Battle-axe & Hero's Blade. I've cut almost all the +1/+1 automatic equipers already in favour of better mana fixing.

Ok, I've a first list that I've run through a couple of games, enough to makes some changes and move towards the Legendary theme. I've kept the Axe & Blade and a couple of other equipment but it's not the focus. Sword of the Animist is coming through Puca and I discovered that I traded away my Minamo, School at Water's Edge sometime in the past so I have to work on gettng another copy. It's insanely expensive now!!

I have a small issue with fliers so I'm still working things around to fit in Intet, the Dreamer, Arashi, the sky asunder & Bow of Nylea (though I think the 2 damage will really limit this even if the Deathtouch will be helpful)

It's a lot of fun. I've had a few great games (and one where Blood Moon just blew me out of green mana which was not fun at all, my only spell all game was Tuktuk the Explorer. )

Decklist to come.

So, in a strange turn of events (for me) I've decided to reduce my GU decks by 1. I admit it's getting silly now: Bant Superfriends, Sidisi, GU Eldrazi, Yasova, Tasigur. While I know that the GU Eldrazi will likely get changed once OGW comes out (probably to Mono G), I really wanted to liberate another GU slot permanently. As my other decks are at quite a nice spot, Yasova was under heavy scrutiny for the chop.

I read Danny West's article on who he played against at the commander celebration which featured a Marath Legends deck where Gyre Sage was his only non-legend creature. I let the idea turn in my head for a few days and decided that I'd also switch to a Naya build. I've not had a Naya deck in the stable since a very brief flirtation with Uril a long, long time ago so it's probably time. I'm not following the Marath list from the article though there will be some overlap.

My driving theme with my changes is, of course, "Legendary". If there's a way to do something with a legendary version of a card, I'll choose that over a non-legendary version. Cards must reference "Legend" if possible. Obviously there has to be a balance, some cards will be included because I need a little fixing or utility but I'm going to try not to bleed too much outside the theme.

I'll post the list sometime over the holidays but any suggestions are welcome.

Link the article please!

My RGW deck eventually morphed into Marath. It's a nice enabler of some pretty dumb stuff. I try to pull of some dragon tribal trickery, but a theme like legends only, well, why not. Marath with Bow of Nylea alone is already worth it.

I'll check if there's any relevant legend in my deck.

Thanks. More like a dump of decklists than an article though. As a reward, I'll give you this link for inspiration: http://www.starcitygames.com/article/26 ... oblem.html
