I usually build a new deck based on one of the new commanders when the annual product hits the streets. So, when I saw Arjun, I knew that I wanted to focus on building a deck for him.

Strategy & Key Cards: The main strategy in this deck is to dig deep through your deck to piece together a win. Either through combos like Arjun, the Shifting Flame + Psychosis Crawler + Spells or Arjun, the Shifting Flame + Alhammarret's Archive + Laboratory Maniac, or via commander damage with equipment like: Diviner's Wand, Empyrial Plate, and Runechanter's Pike.

Meta: I play in a pretty casual meta, always multiplayer. Sometimes with planes or the BANG! variant.

I'm open to any advice. Thanks for looking!

Props... This is actually really awesome. Maybe a little too combo though.

Sphinx's Tutelage and Lab maniac have no interaction though.

Both parts of this are correct.

Sphinx's Tutelage says "opponent", so you can't self-mill, therefore cannot abuse Laboratory Maniac with it.

This is one of legendary creatures from the newest Commander set I was genuinely interested in. I've rocked Melek several times in the past and this just seems more fun or something. This is about the direction I was thinking about.

I'm curious if Possibility Storm might be interesting in this deck. The triggers which could possibly occur rapid fire from it would be chaotic, but that just makes it all the more interesting to me.

Guttersnipe is my go-to card for spell-based decks. You might be a little low on instants and sorceries to make it really shine, but just something to keep in mind.

If you can get your hands on either of the medallions for these colors they would likely be a good replacement for the diamonds.

My bad! I should have said Alhammarret's Archive and Laboratory Maniac!

I've thought about Possibility Storm, could be fun. I was thinking about Guttersnipe when this was a more instant/sorcery heavy build, it will definitely be on my mind as play this deck. If I feel like I see enough triggers to make it worthwhile, I'll make room for it. I was thinking about adding the Seal of the Guildpact, so that or the medallions might be going in.

Thanks for the advice so far! It is ver appreciated

With 24 Instants and Sorceries, I don't see Guttersnipe being awful. I might still include it as is, but I wouldn't cut an Instant or Sorcery for it. If you up the spell count to 28-30, I'd say at that point Guttersnipe is definitely worth running.
