Helloooo!

I've been wanting (read: peer pressured by rabid star commander players) to build a mono coloured deck for a long while. Despite loving green, ramp into threats isn't incredibly fun to play, so I've tried to make a monogreen deck that offers a lot of decision making.

Before C14, the best I could find was Glissa Sunseeker, who pushes you towards a unique green control deck, but her decks aren't left with much leeway when building and tend to all play out the same way. Druid tribal also interested me, but again... Deck building was very parasitic and played out too combo centric. Then every other monogreen deck I've tried to build has gotten hijacked by another colour somewhere down the line.

With Freyalise' reveal? Well... She makes a pretty unique control deck.

Commander: Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury

Land: 36
Buried Ruin
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Swarmyard
Wirewood Lodge
Forest x32

Creature: 23
Traproot Kami
Courser of Kruphix
Karametra's Acolyte
Treefolk Harbinger
Dungrove Elder
Wickerbough Elder
Elvish Harbinger
Elvish Archdruid
Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
Greenseeker
Wellwisher
Immaculate Magistrate
Timberwatch Elf
Masked Admirers
Voice of the Woods
Ezuri, Renegade Leader
Glissa Sunseeker
Bane of Progress
Plaguemaw Beast
Core Prowler
Eternal Witness
Lifeblood Hydra
Regal Force

Sorcery: 8
Desert Twister
Ancient Stirrings
Wave of Vitriol
Primal Command
All is Dust
Beacon of Creation
Genesis Wave
Praetor's Counsel

Instant: 4
Reach of Branches
Sprout Swarm
Bind
Beast Within

Artifact: 15
Sol Ring
Contagion Clasp
Liquimetal Coating
Strionic Resonator
Throne of Geth
Unstable Obelisk
Rings of Brighthearth
Thran Forge
Lux Cannon
The Chain Veil
Trading Post
Gauntlet of Power
Caged Sun
Contagion Engine
Mycosynth Lattice

Enchantment: 7
Lignify
Song of the Dryads
Arachnus Web
Vernal Bloom
Viridian Revel
Doubling Season
Parallel Lives

Planeswalker: 6
Nissa Revane
Nissa, Worldwaker
Garruk Wildspeaker
Garruk, Primal Hunter
Garruk, Caller of Beasts
Karn Liberated

The deck runs a few themes, but everything leads back to Freyalise' abilities. The starting point was to make a superfriends deck. This brings Proliferate, Doubling Season, The Chain Veil and Rings of Brighthearth into the deck and with all this why not run every other 'walker in the colour? But then I need to defend my 'walkers.

Green's removal isn't great, but it has some excellent roadblocks in cards like Traproot Kami and Courser of Kruphix. Even so, I'm running all the green creature removal I can think of that doesn't require my own creatures. With Freyalise able to destroy artifacts and enchantments, I figured it'd be a good idea to include Liquimetal Coating, Mycosynth Lattice and Thran Forge so she can target any problem permanent. For extra artifact removal I added Wickerbough Elder, who's interesting with proliferate, and Glissa Sunseeker.

To help find Wickerbough I've got Treefolk Harbinger and for Glissa I've got Elvish Harbinger. A lot of what's left is interesting things for them to find. But even all that left a lot of space to fill, so the deck has quite a few goodstuff slots. Lemme hear your thoughts, feedback, cut suggestions and card recommendations are appreciated.

Seems like it needs 4 or 5 more lands.

You have Wave of Vitriol listed twice... might want to double check your card count there.

... And that's been copied over to Gathering Magic too. XD I'll have to fix that, editted that into the original post.

- Wave of Vitriol the second
+ Regal Force, without freyalise' ultimate I've been lacking in card draw. Ult on a stick.

I don't want to nitpick, especially now you're an Internet celebrity, but now that you mention the topic of draw: your list has a distinct lack of Skullclamp.

This is true and considering green's card draw is explosive or a lategame engine, skull clamp seems like a perfect fit, thanks. On the other side of things a forests/forests hexproof is pretty good for winning games, but Dungrove Elder just hasn't been worth finding with Treefolk Harbinger and isn't the direction I want to take the deck in.

- Dungrove Elder
+ Skullclamp

Maybe instead of harbinging you should be brutalizing. With the Exarch you don't have to worry about creature types so much, and it also doubles as an answer card itself if you need that answer right now.

Treefolk Harbinger can find a land, Reach of Branches or Lignify and provides decent early game defence. A turn 1 0/3 does well in my local meta due to an abundance of smaller creatures.
Elvish Harbinger can't find anything over the Exarch, but comes out a lot earlier, ramps and is a relevant creature type. I wouldn't cut her for it either.

I personally wouldn't play the Exarch for tutoring unless I really needed this one creature in my deck (and at 6 mana and put on top of the library, it's not doing that job particularly well). As a removal spell it's pretty awesome and leaves a body, an overcosted one, but still a body, one a flicker deck could steal and rip my deck apart with. While it's a little interesting, I've no idea what to cut for it.

I like th Harbingers, the tribal mechanic makes them a bit thematic. What you could do to make them hit harder is to include Call of the Wild. That'd make up for the (relative) lack of draw. If you take that road, include Sylvan Library (why aren't you running this?) and Cream of the Crop.

Nevinyrral's Disk wouldn't be a bad choice as well, because it leaves your superfriends alone.

Oh yeah call of the wild, it's good with Courser, the Harbingers and Oracle of Mul Daya if I end up running it, considering it's an elf I probably should. The problem with Call of the Wild is it dumps any non-creatures it finds into the grave, which pushes the deck away from the super friends theme. Besides which, the issue is I don't have cards like divination, to smooth over the early game, not that I'm missing long term card advantage.

Sylvan Library I have, but was in use in another deck, with that deck retiring soon it'll need a home. With the extra life planeswalkers afford me I can probably dig with it frequently too.

Cream of the Crop is pretty darn good. Since I want to be playing lots of 'walkers and I only have 6, anything that digs through the deck to find them is probably worth it.

Nevinyrral's Disk was initially cut from the list because I was trying to make an artifact theme as well, but with Darksteel Forge it gets awful. With forge gone, I should put it back in.

A couple I've considered deserve a slot myself, Elvish Visionary helps fight against the lack of early card draw, Krosan Tusker helps in that too. Priestess of Titania and Joraga Treespeaker provide some extra ramp and elves. Spike Weaver should've been in the deck from the start too. But what do I cut?

Unstable Obelisk, while great removal, doesn't play so well into a Wave of Vitriol or Bane of Progress, unlike others it's not so happy with it... But Spine of Ish Sah certainly is...

Strionic Resonator doesn't have an awful lot of targets and was mostly there to have fun with rings of brighthearth. Perhaps if I went more for elf ball Gilt-Leaf Archdruid would be a better plan, but as it stands he's just "surprise, I had enough of the right dudes to make you bored". Ancient Stirrings is only half the cost of the library or cream and barely a fraction of the usefulness. Ezuri, Renegade Leader wins games a little too easily and skews the focus of the deck away from the planeswalkers, using elves to form a defence and mana pool for my 'walkers is cool, riding them to victory every three games is not.

- Unstable Obelisk
- Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
- Ancient Stirrings
- Strionic Resonator
- Ezuri, Renegade Leader
- Forest
+ Spine of Ish Sah
+ Nevinyrral's Disk
+ Elvish Visionary
+ Krosan Tusker
+ Oracle of Mul Daya
+ Sylvan Library
+ Cream of the Crop
+ Priestess of Titania
+ Joraga Treespeaker
+ Spike Weaver
+ Reliquary Tower

I should be more than fine for card draw now so I'll throw in a reliquary tower instead of a forest. But seriously, what do I cut for these 5 new cards?
