Oh yeah
call of the wild, it's good with Courser, the Harbingers and
Oracle of Mul Daya if I end up running it, considering it's an elf I probably should. The problem with
Call of the Wild is it dumps any non-creatures it finds into the grave, which pushes the deck away from the super friends theme. Besides which, the issue is I don't have cards like
divination, to smooth over the early game, not that I'm missing long term card advantage.
Sylvan Library I have, but was in use in another deck, with that deck retiring soon it'll need a home. With the extra life planeswalkers afford me I can probably dig with it frequently too.
Cream of the Crop is pretty darn good. Since I want to be playing lots of 'walkers and I only have 6, anything that digs through the deck to find them is probably worth it.
Nevinyrral's Disk was initially cut from the list because I was trying to make an artifact theme as well, but with Darksteel Forge it gets awful. With forge gone, I should put it back in.
A couple I've considered deserve a slot myself,
Elvish Visionary helps fight against the lack of early card draw,
Krosan Tusker helps in that too.
Priestess of Titania and
Joraga Treespeaker provide some extra ramp and elves.
Spike Weaver should've been in the deck from the start too. But what do I cut?
Unstable Obelisk, while great removal, doesn't play so well into a
Wave of Vitriol or
Bane of Progress, unlike others it's not so happy with it... But
Spine of Ish Sah certainly is...
Strionic Resonator doesn't have an awful lot of targets and was mostly there to have fun with rings of brighthearth. Perhaps if I went more for elf ball
Gilt-Leaf Archdruid would be a better plan, but as it stands he's just "surprise, I had enough of the right dudes to make you bored".
Ancient Stirrings is only half the cost of the library or cream and barely a fraction of the usefulness.
Ezuri, Renegade Leader wins games a little too easily and skews the focus of the deck away from the planeswalkers, using elves to form a defence and mana pool for my 'walkers is cool, riding them to victory every three games is not.
- Unstable Obelisk
- Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
- Ancient Stirrings
- Strionic Resonator
- Ezuri, Renegade Leader
- Forest
+ Spine of Ish Sah
+ Nevinyrral's Disk
+ Elvish Visionary
+ Krosan Tusker
+ Oracle of Mul Daya
+ Sylvan Library
+ Cream of the Crop
+ Priestess of Titania
+ Joraga Treespeaker
+ Spike Weaver
+ Reliquary Tower
I should be more than fine for card draw now so I'll throw in a reliquary tower instead of a forest. But seriously, what do I cut for these 5 new cards?
