I still play very casually (when I do get to play), and this deck is meant to be thus. It does have some teeth, and will always have some teeth--pay too little attention to Sliver, and they'll never let you forget.

Post below if you have ideas about Sliver builds besides the classic combo-control. I'd be happy to hear them out and respond accordingly. Before I built this version of the deck, I was thinking about trying to make something with Riku of Two Reflections at the helm of the deck.

Then I realized the only thing people would be madder about than Slivers is an obnoxious general with Slivers.

Commander:
Sliver Legion

There isn't a whole lot of tricks in this deck. Progenitor Mimic, Spitting Image, and Stolen Identity are a little fun. Recovery and card draw is sometimes a problem, but interestingly enough mana screw keeps getting to me more than sometimes. I think my shuffling might be off or something...

Anyway, there's a major lack of Sliver Overlord, Sliver Queen, Sliver Hivelord, and Sliver Hive. Well, the thing is I don't care about ever adding the former two, and the latter two I don't own because I'm not yet ready to shell out the money for the prices driven by Standard. I might still get some at some point, but not right now.

The idea behind this decklist began with Hivestone, Xenograft, and Conspiracy. I wanted them all in the same deck so I could take advantage of random token generators with Slivers. After weighing my options, Marchesa, seemed to be the best option, as she has built-in wrath protection and simultaneously acts almost like a Sliver lord by buffing them while attacking. Getting Slivers out and turning them sideways is one of the things I like most about Slivers, as the title of this thread implies.

The major advantage of this deck, besides Marchesa's wrath protection, over 5-Color Slivers, is explained through nature around us--for instance: grapevines produce the best fruit only when pruned properly. Narrowing down the colors helps focus the deck more, instead of trying to go in twenty different directions at once. This also allows me more luxury to leave out various Slivers and replace their spots in the deck with more card draw.

Of the Slivers I have left out, I know I'm not running Basal Sliver, Frenetic Sliver, Homing Sliver, and Telekinetic Sliver. Basal is cool with Marchesa's ability, but I have a feeling I won't usually have anything to do with the mana. Further testing will show whether or not this is true. Frenetic Sliver could probably use more consideration, but at the moment I'm trying to narrow down which Slivers might need to be replaced. Homing and Telekinetic Slivers probably won't make a spot. Homing might be nice, but I'd rather have the card draw; furthermore, starting down the path of searching for quick answers to problems could lead me closer and closer to combo or control--this is supposed to be aggro. Telekinetic is definitely a control card, and I'd like to lean away from that if possible.

There's likely a lack of answers in this deck, but I'm hoping to make up for it with cards like Acidic Sliver. I guess I'll have to test and see.

For an aggro deck Belligerent Sliver has a great effect so you can have 2 sources of it.

Toxin Sliver seems worse than Venom Sliver. You would lose the regenerate clause but its more efficient and works with noncombat damage in case that comes up.

Crystalline Sliver seems like an auto-include. Any reason for not including it?

I haven't obtained any of the new Slivers yet, which is why none currently appear on my list. I also avoided Crystalline Sliver for the very reason you've expressed: it is known as an auto-include in every Sliver deck ever, and I would kindly like to have this deck be a little different. The line I'm drawing in the sand right now is vague, but the above decklist is just a prelude and I intend the deck to reach a point where no one feels it is just the same kind of Sliver deck as all the others.

Such as the Thorncaster that's already in the list. "Attack with all my dudes, plague wind you" seems pretty good.

I'm going to be testing this deck out with Marchesa at the helm instead of a 5-Color Sliver Legend. We'll see how it goes. I've put the decklist above.
