Obviously I went with Cleric tribal. One of problems with Clerics is that in order for many of them to work, they need a bunch of other creatures out there as well. So I had to make the creature count pretty high, especially since the only way to make cleric tokens is with Heliod. That's ok though, since he's a God and fits thematically.

The non-Clerics include 2 Gods, a couple Angels and a Demon. Other thematic cards that worked well were Martyr's Cause and Harsh Mercy. Hellfire was goofy but actually did some work for me. There are a bunch of sac outlets in the deck, and as such Grave Pact and Martyr's Bond did well.

There isn't any ramp in the deck, but the average CMC is under 3.3 so it isn't horrible. There are a lot of colorless lands though. I'm thinking about taking out Mouth of Ronom for Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. It wasn't usually an issue for me though.

Comments, let me know!

My Teysa deck used to be tribal humans/clerics/zombies (Necromancer's Covenant is awesome). It did ok. I never ran "good cards" though, well except for Grave Titan (cuz zambies!).

When I wanted to use the extort cards from RTR, I had to gut a lot of the humans/clerics matter cards. Then I realized Athreos, God of Passage is immensely better for a drain B/W deck. He's a solid general, and seems like a good choice for this deck too, since you aren't running a lot of token generation.

Normally I would recommend Darien, King of Kjeldor for a Teysa deck, but Geist-Honored Monk or Luminous Angel are on-theme alternatives that would do nicely for you (I used the monk as a finisher for my original Teysa deck).

Yeah, whenever I see a Teysa, Orzhov Clerics list I know to add those two cards. You've already got the Academy Rector. I mean, even toss in a Viscera Seer and/or Ashnod's Altar and end of their turn make a billionty tokens and ravage them :)

lame combos are the best way to ruin a deck, not improve it...

Yeah, you're right because there is no instant speed removal for artifacts in this format...or enchantments for that matter...

Darkest hour and Blasting Station don't win games without the general... and other creatures, and no opponents having any type of removal...

I've always wanted to find a deck for Necromancer's Covenant and it sounds like you found one. I think if I wanted to push the deck into a more competitive stance, I might try and squeeze Darien in there. But really I was trying to push the cleric theme (for Heaven/Hell stuff) so I didn't have a whole lot of free space. Athreos seems like an auto-include though.

As for the Blasting Station combo, I might add it if I was playing this deck in real life. However I'm primarily an MTGO player, and as such, all the clicking necessary to go off is just tedious. I've always been wary of the Blasting Station pieces because they don't typically do a whole lot by themselves. But enough creatures die in this deck that it would probably be worthwhile.

I also had Captain of the Watch, so there was a very small soldiers thing going on with her and Darien. Someone has to guard the church, right?
