Hey all,

My first time posting so hopefully I follow procedure.

Deck Name: Child Please
Format: Multiplayer
Budget: I'm not too concerned with price but I'm not spending more than 25 bucks on any one card at the moment..maybe further down the road when the deck is "perfect" I'll fork over for the money cards
Metagame: don't really know as I only play with a couple friends. Two use black and white decks and the other uses red/green/blue

Would love some thoughts/advice!

Are you sure Child of Alara's the right general for your deck?

Child decks hate on their own permanents, which usually pushes them into a spellslinger or lands-matter kind of deck. You seem like you want to play cool creatures and enchantments... ever thought about running Horde of Notions instead?

I thought about that. I just like the option to board wipe when I feel like it's getting crazy. I plan on throwing in some manlands so when that happens I can just turn lands into creatures until I can get set up again. Also, feel like the threat of killing Child will deter my opponents even if it's just for a turn or two

Feel like if I change to the Hord of Notions that I'll have to redo the whole deck to include putting cards into my graveyard and subbing in all elemental creatures. Something to consider though.

Many opponents will be willing to call your bluff if you have a board full of non-land permanents. Child isn't really that powerful unless you can break the symmetry of the ability. Also, without either Genesis or Volrath's Stronghold, allowing Child to go to the graveyard means you likely won't be able to get it back for a while, making the threat of Wraths much less scary.

Horde of Notions, Cromat, Progenitus, or even Genju of the Realm (if your group allows it) would be better as a general.

Given your partiality to the Lorwyn style enchantments, I would second the Cromat recommendation.

He likes to get buffed and swing. I used to run so many enchantments in my Cromat deck that it actually ran enchantresses, too! It was a blast!

You know you want to run Progenitus with all 10 lieges on the field.

Ok if I put Cromat as my commander would he be a good target for my auras? As far as Progenitus I just don't like em'...but he would be BA with all my liege cards on the field. Maybe I'll add all the missing Lieges and use Cromat or Progenitus as my Commander. hmmm... :?

So are there any "staples" that go in a [[Cromat]] deck? I really would like to stay in the 5 color deck style

You already have Conflux and Last Stand. Cromat is sort of the casual, non-streamlined 5c general. Essentially, you can sort of put whatever you want into a Cromat deck. 5-color cycles are a good place to start (you're already working on the lieges and the Godhand enchants from lorwyn block). Some recommendations:

The Sanctuary Cycle (Apocalypse)
Dega Sanctuary
Ana Sanctuary
Ceta Sanctuary
Necra Sanctuary
Raka Sanctuary

The Honden Cycle (Champions of Kamigawa)
Honden of Cleansing Fire
Honden of Night's Reach
Honden of Life's Web
Honden of Seeing Winds
Honden of Infinite Rage

The Nephilim Cycle (Guildpact)
Dune-Brood Nephilim
Glint-Eye Nephilim
Ink-Treader Nephilim
Witch-Maw Nephilim
Yore-Tiller Nephilim

The Bringer Cycle (Fifth Dawn)
Bringer of the Red Dawn
Bringer of the Black Dawn
Bringer of the Blue Dawn
Bringer of the Green Dawn
Bringer of the White Dawn

Wow! Thanks for the recs man. I really dig these. Gonna have to find room for some of these for sure. Guess I'll pursue the rest of the Liege cards..think I"m only missing 2 or 3 max.

Thanks again!
