Maybe Torpor Orb then? Unless this is also a card for your meta.

So actually got some time to play some EDH this weekend. I finally can make some changes with BotG out and well... got some cards too.

OUT > IN

Nin, the Pain Artist > Lurking Predators

Nin just isn't doing it for me anymore. Having to pay (X) on top of (R)(B) really started to suck up my mana more than I liked. I enjoyed to fun stuff with Vigor + Nin but alas, she really conflicts with the deck. So making way for a awesome enchantment that's right down this decks ally.

Mistcutter Hydra > Nylea, God of the Hunt

Mistcutter is a awesome hydra. It comes out swinging and has some very nice perks to it. However compared to the other 2 hydras, after casting it there is no more profit unless I bounce to recast again. I need more pressure than that, so I've decided to replace it with Nylea.

Asceticism > Archetype of Endurance

This is a decision solely based on I'm trying to make the deck with as many creatures as possible. The more cards come out that do similar things as non-creature cards I'll be seeing to add them.

Am I a bad person for being disappointed by the utter lack of Laboratory Maniac in the Primal Surge list? >.>; Flipping your deck upside-down and winning from a resolved Elvish Visionary trigger seems totally in the spirit of the format!

lol, it is certainly an interesting idea, I just don't like the idea that Laboratory Maniac is completely useless on the field unless I do something to draw myself out. But it is certainly a way to try and build a Animar Deck.

Update:

Warstorm Surge > Purphoros, God of the Forge

after a change that was gonna happen. Not as big on damage but it is a creature that I could cast for one R, and its indestructible.

2 Forest > Opal Palace & Mosswort Bridge
