If there's anything that this deck does, it's pulverize fliers. And there's no shortage of fliers in EDH. Spiders are notorious for being (bad) great at holding off fliers and smaller ground guys, at least in my experience.

The bad part about this deck is that the Spiders themselves probably won't get the job of winning the game done by themselves, and require some help from the non-Spider guys. Which isn't necessarily bad. This deck is capable of playing the waiting game, but it does need a bit of a stronger win condition than a few huge Spiders and an Eldrazi or two. I'm open to some suggestions on how to give the creatures in this deck a little more viable while still keeping it on theme.

Other than that, Boosh.

I don't get Arashi. Is he the general just 'cause he hates flying guys?

If I was gonna build a spider tribal deck, I'd probably use Doran, and go for a Hobbit-style Mirkwood spider forest vibe. Doran makes their fat spider butts useful, and adding black means you could pick up Spider Spawning, which is obviously the best spider based card ever.

P.S. Swarmyard.

Sometimes It's just more fun to be 1 color, as opposed to 3 colors.

Yes. That is why he's the general. He hates flying guys. Spiders hate flying guys. Natural allies.

I tried making a Doran Spider deck before I made this one. The Doran deck was a dodgamn functional MESS. I really didn't like how it played, and it just felt unnatural. idk, maybe I did it wrong. I guess I just like mono-green better for this thing.

Yes. Pretty much this. But I will add Swarmyard. Serious derp on my part.

You also miss out on Ancient Spider, which is probably one of the most confusing rarity decisions R&D has made. They could probably reprint that at common these days.

Power creep is a helluva drug.
